Cheap baggage again. Not much choice left now, both handles fell apart on this CHEAP bag. Have to carry it with both hands now.
Baggage Handlers know the best luggage!
I have been a baggage Handler with one of the world’s largest and safest International airlines for over 22 years now, over the years we have seen and experienced many things to do with aviation. Many of these things we have no control over and very little influence in. However certain things we can influence, one of the things I have observed over many years is the quality of luggage or baggage and how it has evolved and improved also how it has declined.
With the advent of more of these cheap stores that sell anything and everything but specialise in nothing. Baggage has become available so cheap! The biggest problem with these so called bargain paradises is there is no expert advice on any of the products including luggage. Buy from a store where you can get expert advice and ask questions.
This WAS an extendable handle on a cheap poor quality piece of luggage. Imagine arriving at your destination with a fair weight in this bag and having to carry it all the way to the carpark because you can't tow it along behind you anymore!
A few tips for you;
Quality Hard shell luggage is worth its weight in gold, excellent for your contents inside and for your own peice of mind.
Make sure the case can take a fair load on the sides and will not crack or collapse.
Wheels are solid and run smooth.
Handles are strongly connected to cases.
Extend-able handles are strong and will not bend easily.
Zip tags are not too large or they get caught in conveyors.
Straps are removable or they too get caught in conveyors.
Buy more unique colours so your luggage stands out making them easier to spot amongst others.

After seeing what I have seen, I can not stress this enough , If you are in the market for luggage or baggage there is one very simple rule to follow and most of the population completely disregard it, and that is, you guessed it, you get what you pay for ! Buyer beware.
Cheap baggage or luggage is usually absolute rubbish.
I have never in the past endorsed baggage or luggage but after all these years of witnessing cheap poor quality baggage which looks good, literally fall apart with the rigours of manual baggage handling and the harsh handling of the automated state of the art baggage systems installed in most major airports around the world. Quality hard shell luggage by brands such as Samsonite are by far the best to withstand these systems.
We as Baggage Handlers watch every day as this cheap baggage gets chewed up by conveyor belt systems, crushed by baggage stacked on top of it. I really believe you have a right to know so you can make an informed decision.
What I need to get across to people is all baggage in aircraft holds or baggage containers cannot be stacked on top some has to go on the bottom. The bags are stacked on the bottom as they arrive at the container, if the bag is of poor construction by the time it has a further 10 or more bags on top they usually collapse. so bare that in mind and please buy wisely.
